Hi all.

I was wondering if anyone out there knew about a web site to search for information on company directors without paying a fee? It's only a one off and it's not worth signing up to Companies House themselves or any of the other sites that I've found that do the same service for a charge.

Thanks in advance. smile

Basic searches on the Companies House site are pretty cheap - typically £1 per document.

They also wanted a £5 free for a months access in addition to that. I've just stumbled across http://www.researcha.com/ which comes closer, but still no cigar.

Edited to add it doesn't look like 7:30pm on a Friday evening is the time to post in this forum... hehe

It's free to register at Companies House. Admittedly, the information you can get directly from them can be rather limited. Typically, it consists of:

most recent accounts filed

most recent annual return

list of appointments

The latter is where you will get some details relating to the directors.
Other directorships held by the directors are disclosed on the annual return.

Why does Companies House only allow searches at certain times? Don't they understand the concept of the internet?

I often wonder that.

However, it seems you can search on Saturday now - which is an improvement.

I last used it 3 months ago and there was no 5 monthly fee.
