Strange goings-on under the bonnet...

Mondy 130TDci....

Under load, motor sounds like a ton of pebbles sliding down a metal sheet...

And suffers a kind of hesitating pulse whilst cruising.

It started making this racket a while ago, but it disappeared when I started using BP Ultimate diesel...

Any ideas, these oily beasts are a mystery to me...?

Imjectors need resetting , sounds odd but try pulling the battery for an hour , it will reset the ECU , not sure if it will help , but its worth a go.

Tried that now...

There IS an improvement, but problem's still there...

Most odd...

Dealer trip then mate , might need the injectors recalibrating , But i think there is an anti knock sensor on the engine that fires the injector at various times to quieten the engine down , may even be just that gone doolally.

Good luck ,
May the force be with you

Try a trip to longleat in wiltshire and go through the monkey enclosure , they have the same quailifications (not sure ive spelt that right) as most ford spanner monkeys , and have less of a habbit of saying "computer says no"

Yes, I'm sure...

Exhibit 1...the lady's speedo kept failing, followeed by sudden engine stall...computer said no problem

Exhibit 2....

They released my car as fixed three times...it wasn't

On the fourth attempt, they said they couldn't fix it...but it was fixed

Oh, yes...I'm sure hehe

I didn't understand that, so I had a peep at your profile...hehe

If you're saying you do things differently, I'm glad...and I wish I lived in Wales so you could fix me up.

However, what I said is a true account of what happened to me, and an acquaintance, up here in Yorkshire. Whatever you care to comment can't undo what happened.

Moving on...

This morning, I found an independent specialist who ran it through diagnostics. His kit says there's too much pressure at the injectors at start up and computer says some new rail sensor needed....special bloody order, five days...aaargh.

Also said this might not cure it...deep joy.

I would suggest getting a Ford dealer to check it on IDS first to confirm the fault code and diagnosis.

I wouldnt comment on what happened with the other dealers, its just a shame that we all get tarred with the same brush and no we arent perfect but we are trying, its how you resolve customer issues that mark you out as being different.

Thank you,Ford are trying to raise standards within dealerships with revised training and ATA accreditation, its fair to say though that it will be a long process.

Glad to hear it , Fords dealer network lets the whole ford ownership down.
