...A HD TV to use an X-Box 360??


Only i've been seriously eyeing a what i think is good deal up in my local game shop but wasn't sure if it would work on my TV...

You don't need one no, but it will look much nicer on a decent TV using component/HDMI/VGA as apposed to composhit/scart.
Don't forget you can also buy a VGA lead and use them on either CRT or LCD pc monitors too.You will then be able to run at
a higher resolution than a standard CRT tv will give you.

Yep - well, no, not that exact lead! lol. I used my 360 on a CRT screen for a while before getting a cheapish 32" LCD TV.
It also looks grand on my PC's Sammy 226BW LCD screen.

I would suggest getting an official VGA lead though.Heard mixed reports on other makes,
but maybe someone else can confirm/deny.Ebay has tons of non official ones by the way.
I still use VGA now on my LCD tv as it happens.I find it has a sharper edge to it than
component and they released an update for the console which helped the colours become
more vibrant via VGA.Some people had said it was a bit wish washy compared to component
you see.

I got my VGA lead from a blockbuster video store, was about £20 i think back then.
It has options for those toslink digital outputs and phono leads, so i connect the VGA
socket to my LCD TV and a digital cable to a digital amp for sound (never used the phonos)

Forgot to ask, what monitor do you have? I'm not sure what cables you get with the various xbox
packages these days, i have had 3 360's and they have all been the basic ones with rubbish cables,
so maybe the newer ones will allow you to hook up to your PC screen (depending on inputs) anyway?

The monitor is a CIBOX C2201 22" from here


Pretty pleased with it so far, Big difference from that last one anyway!
