What options do have....
Discussion
Hi guys,
Im looking for some advice. I have a kodak z650 HERE

It's basically everything i wanted it to be. Alot better than my previous point and shoot jobbie, in terms of having control over what it does, and at a decent price. I dont have funds to buy into DSLR just yet as the transition from student life to the real world is happening at the moment.
So Im looking at all the different types of lens and the results people get. I got a lens adapter (55mm) with my camera so i take it i cn buy add ons for mine?! So can anyone point me towards where i can get some and what kind are available. No info on the kodak site.
Cheers in advance,
Keith

I don't think the lens adaptors for all-in-one zoom camera's are much use, they seem to be a bit tacky, from what I've read.
As soon as you understand that max pixels isn't the most important thing (in fact, more pixels = less light/sensitivity) then you'll realize that a good slightly older DSLR will do the job.
I have a Canon 300D, love it, even with the standard lens it takes great pictures. I'm sure the Nikon D70 or whatever is every bit as good. You can probably buy one s/h for under £300.
So personally, I wouldn't spend money on adaptors.

I bought a x2 tele converter for my Fuji S5000 a few years ago. It does the trick but it's not fantastic quality. It makes the pictures quite soft round the edges. If you're just taking pictures for your own pleasure then something similar would probably do you ok.
Just found this on ebay so they are out there:

It might be worth going for it and seeing what results you get. I think you're going to struggle any other way, especially if you don't have a big budget to play with.
The picture below was taken on my Fuji S5000 with 2x tele attached. As you can see the quality is what I'd call good but not up to the quality of a proper zoom on a DSLR. If that's the sort of quality you would be happy with then go for it!

Mmmm....unfortunately cant justify spending even that amount right now. So just looking for cheaper alternatives to work with what I've got!
If Kodak make supplementary lenses for it, go for it, but I'd not bother with generic ones. These were taken with the Fuji 0.8x lens on my S9600 - 22mm equivalent.

I have the Fuji add on 0.79x and 1.5x lenses for the S5000-S5600 for my S5200 and they're quite good too, although the tele is prone to purple fringing on high contrast edges - crap for stuff against the sky, better to crop, fine otherwise.
I also tried some generic cheapies; they were shoite.
