The driver may adjust the front wing flaps from the cockpit twice a lap by an angle of a maximum 6 degrees.
Moveable aero devices operated from the cockpit?

Where's that can of worms when you need it.

Will require telemetric monitoring by the stewards I suppose. Increased technology necessary to ensure more aerodynamic inefficiency. A strange concept.

With the banning of all the exterior airflow modifying devices, I wonder if we will see some odd shaped cars next year. I imagine that there might be some unusual mouldings to try and compensate.

FIA obviosuly watch those Mint credit card adverts about the clever/dumb balance.

"Smaller wings and no chimneys. Oooh Clever FIA!"

"Front wing that the driver can move twice a lap. And the clever dumb balance is restored."

Not sure I like the sound of moveable wings! Cant they just focus on driving instead of adjusting the wings? Theyre turning into pilots!

So a driver moves his wings to get downforce behind another car and then forgets to readjust after the manouvre and oversteers off the next bend.

Sooo silly and the two times a lap? what if he wants to overtake three cars?

cockpit adjustable aero...

come on FFS lets gat bacl to a steering wheel a gearstick a rev counter and an oil guage.

Modern F1 look like jumbo cockpits...

Its stupid now. . .

Moveable wings - hardly cutting edghe technology (which F1 always likes to boast about). Used in 1956 on the Mays Brothers' Porsche at Le Mans and in the 1960s by the Chaparrals.

If you count air brakes as moveable aerodynamic devices, then Mercedes were a few years earlier at Le Mans.

I know theyu used them at the 1955 race - and discovered they were getting downforce on the back wheels whjen they were deployed. They would have walked the 1955 Le Mans if it hadn't been for the withdrawl of the team after the LeVegh disaster.

Is this gonna be as well as the 'boost button' to overtake people?

I think the cars should also be fitted with a big spring underneath which would allow the car to leapfrog the car in front - but the use of the spring would be limited to twice per race.

It pisses me off that we have two compulsory tyre compounds per race, in an effort to artificially introduce overtaking. Adding 'boost' will be another way of making it appear more exciting for the casual viewer at the expense of genuine racing talent. Driver-operated aero is no different.

Why-oh-why is it so hard nowadays for race series to be just about cars that are cars and drivers who are drivers?

Fastest combo wins.

All the gimmicks (two tyre compounds, rev limits and long life engines, reverse grids and success ballast in touring cars) just get in the way of good racing. When will the organisers realise this?

With mandatory driver swaps where the 2 drivers have to pit on the same lap and swap cars.
