Advice needed.

Hi fellas,

Now I'm back from holiday and the weather is c**p I thought I would work on my car. I'm going to have the floor pan etc off to tidy the car up some more. Whilst I am doing this I want to change the long heater hose to the front of the car. I also think it would be a good idea to change the expansion tank as it has some very small stress marks on the top.

Does anyone on here know what car it is from?

I have searched the forum but all I found was someone stating it was from a Mondeo. However, another thread stated that this one didn't have enough inlets/outlets.

I will be changing all the screws for stainless items. I remember Alex S saying that ScrewFix is a good place to get them. Should I be fitting 3.5mm or 4mm x 20mm?

Suggest you get 20% quantity of the larger diameter screws - you'll need to drill out some corroded screws and the hole may enlarge in the process requiring a bigger screw matron!

just had all this done to my 2.5 .i started on my drive with axle stands and believe you me its not worth the hassle.Dont get me wrong ,its the best thing ive done so far .i also have evos and enlisted the mitsi garage i use for servicing them.They were quite kean to service the noble as well.They removed the total floorpan which is an ordeal in itself as there are so many rivets to remove.They then removed the old paint that was left to bare metal and found small ammounts of rust which if left much longer would have been terminal,rust treated throughout etchprimed, 4coats of 2pack paint ,waxoyled ,sealed and put together with stainless self tappers and washers.Whilst there the 10mm water hoses were replaced along with main water hoses andmatrix hoses with 3ply samcos as these were shot .the car had a small service ie plugs,leads,oil,filter,gearbox oil,coolant flush etc.I bought all the items myself but it was left to dave the ralliart tech to do the rest.The bill was for labour 500 pounds and i cannot recommend them highly enough for the care they took with my car .

Its not the header tank from a ST24 as I was told, it is different it releases pressure early. I'm in the process of trying to find out which car it's from. If someone can give me the ford number on theirs then I can find out what car it comes from.

I have most of the number begins with 1S but at the end of it 1 inch away but inline with the 1S number should be a couple of letters (I don't have the letters) a friend got me the number off his car. (I don't have my old header) If you could possible get a mirror under it to find these letters then I can get the part number.

If you can't do this there should be a number on the cap, get me this and I locate part number this way.

Header tank part number is Ford 1117755 and the cap is 1230968 total £33.
