If you've bought the version 2 of TomTom One, you'll know what I mean. They've made it cheaper than a previous one and whilst I don't mind that, it doesn't bloody work. As soon as your run over a snail, the whole unit falls from teh windscreen, hits you in teh face and ends up tangled under the seat.

There are several modified upgrades offered on Ebay, but has anyone found one that works well?

Mine has never come off. In fact, I have trouble getting the damn thing off the screen when I park up - often have to separate it from the screen using a biro.

mines never fell off either, infact the last time I took it off when I had the car cleaned, it needed a good pull.
Maybe your windscreen is greasy and that's why it's not sticking

Taken in a different context, that could be quite worrying....

I think the fact that you leave yours on is key. What must be happening is that it worked for a week or two, then get's the inevitable dust etc on it and they falls off.

I haev the sucker for the v1 and it's never come off despite being 2 years old and living in the glovebox. The v1 was certainly a better, albeit more expensive design. I've heard they've now fixewd the v2 sucker, so it may be you guys have got the later v2.1 sucker

The other day I found one outside my driveway which had been run over and totally squashed. I thought about the poor s0d who lost it, picked it up to throw it in my bin, had a quick look in my door-pocket and... oh sh1t.

So it stuck really well before, and now, many hours of supergluing and messing with it later, it drops off every 30 minutes.

As it relies on an air-tight seal, check for scratches dust moulding marks etc, try spit, wax polish, whatever you want.

But I've heard leaving it on the windscreen is asking to have your car broken into, and visible ring-marks is probably just as bad.

use a thin smear of vaseline around the rim (ooerr missus!) and it will cure the lack of suction problem smile

will make it an absolute bugger (fnarr fnarr) to get off and leave a sticky mess (blimey!) on your windscreen but it will stay stuck to the window like...

well, lets leave the innuendo there shall we!
