Does anybody know a cost effective method of shipping an exhaust from Oz? I've used Pack&Send, Oz Post and the major freight carriers in past, but none are particularly cost effective.
Any ideas welcomed. Thanks.

Hi,
I have been quoted about £175 to ship a full Monaro exhaust system from Oz. Also the total cost for system, headers, CATs center and 2 rear boxes with O2 sensor extension wires is only for just over £1350 but for a extra £100 if it comes via air freight and not on a boat.

is that including stainless hpc coated headers or plain steel headers - reason I ask was I was quoted around 950 quid for 2 sets of stainless hpc coated headers with airfreight - around 150-160 of that was carriage.Reminds me I really must get around to ordering them up.

Fedex just charged me £289 for airfreighting one carton weighing 17kg from Shanghai. Bloody scandalous! (not car parts) irked

They're trying to recover the money for that plane load of stuff they lost in the Tom Hanks film!

they can't have lost it, Tom was found in the end and he is a lot smaller than a cargo plane.

Your toys turned up from aus yet?

You can get 2.5" stainless Di Fillippo, incl headers, cats and O2, for $2,600 (ex-freight + UK taxes) from Oz. PM me if interested. I'm not connected to supplier, but have bought from him.

Forget 2.5" exhaust unless you are planning on staying stock. It will flow enough for around 550fwhp then will be a restriction. So probably ok for stock displacement NA setups. FI, strokers etc need more capacity.

di filippo do a 3" version of the same exhaust for a few hundred more, think it worked out around 1400 before shipping and tax last I checked. Exchange rate isn't great at the moment - down to 2.1 Aus $ to the £ last I saw.

The twin 2.5 DiFilippo comes with its own cats. They are 3 inch in and 2.5 inch out to join up to a twin 2.5 inch exhaust. They do produce a 3 inch as mentioned which would probably use the same headers/extractors but different cats (3 in 3 out). I think the standard extractors are 1 and 3/4 inch 4 into 1. The bigger ones are 1 7/8 4 into 1. If you didn't have rusty roads over there the none stainless is even cheaper!!

mild steel version is between half and two thirds cost iirc - kinda makes some peoples 900-1000 quid for stainless headers look a bit ott.

Not yet Mike. I haven't ordered it yet as they are playing silly bu$$ers with the price through their preferred dealer.
