Immobiliser / Ignition Wires
Discussion
Hi chaps,
I am just fitting my alarm system and I can't work out which wires are which on the back of the key barrel. I have Clive's wiring schematic, but the numbers on the back of the barrel don't match the schematic... There are:
4 White cables (in 2 pairs)
2 Brown Cables in the centre (also paired together)
Also there is a spare cable tied up which goes to the starter button. Is this to bypass the button if connected? (allowing start from the key)?
I need to know as trying to sort out the immobiliser.
Are the other contacts used for auxiliary items? Think I need a new multimeter!
Any help appreciated! Cheers!

The Brown wires are the supply into the ignition switch.
The white wires are all switched lives. (fuse 1, Fuse 2, coil, fuel pump switch.)
The white/red is for the starter or can be wired to a start button.
Switch position 4 can be wired for accessories like radio etc. (goes off during start)
