Seized nipples .............
Discussion
missus. For anyone searching, had problem with seized bleed nipples on brakes as two different metals had effectively welded themselves together so unable to bleed brakes and refused to be removed by any means (happening more often now these cars are reaching a 'certain age'). Handed car to Scole Engineering who, being the types they are, scratched heads, called round, said AP would kindly sell me new ones, looked for what might be alternatives and eventually had them re-engineered with new seats and nipples in matching metals so no more chance of seizing due to this problem. Problem solved for much less than new calipers.
What I love about these guys is nothing seems to phase them and they always seem to look at all angles, not just the 'whip in a new part and don't bother to think'. So if you need a mechanic that thinks like a TVR mechanic needs to, call them.
Me, I'm likely to be off for a while as the Cerb is up for sale so thanks for the help and assistance over the last few years. It's good to see the Cerbera Owners Reference CD is still doing the rounds and we still have the Wedges Project to keep me amused during the winter so not leaving the fold.
