Engineering shop in edinburgh?

Anyone know of a good engineering shop in edinburgh?

i need new valve guides fitted.

i used george brown and son before but wasnt impressed at all by their work.

hi has anyone got the adress or phone number for alec at engine services.
my balance belt stripped on my challenger jeep and bust up my valves,i dont want to get them from pentlands or dingbro.i used to use piston components when they were on the go but ive heard that this is one of their best guys .

many thanks for the info guys ,have more problems than originally thought .stripped of head and found no 1 piston disconnected aaargh bloody things threw a con rod.have to strip sump off and check crank now,hopefully will be sound..lol just my luck...at least i can get work done if need be now .

On a different note Matt were you "hanging" out the window at your dads house today. I drove past in the TVR at lepton speed and gave a wave but couldn't see who it was.

Yeah I know John well Nick, top bloke and takes no nonsense on track! feel old when I think back to when his son was born, now he is racing ministocks.

Same with Paul Martin, can remember when he raced minis, now his daughter is finished minis and moving onto a senior formula...........away to put on my slippers and light the pipe now, reminisce when this was all fields etc........

yeah that was me greg.

btw i used alec at engine services quite a few times, best around the area by far. Had some quite major problems with one of the others doing shocking work but they will remain nameless.

and when the chip shop at Cowdenbeath went up in smoke - highlight of the day about 20 yeras ago.
