Seat Belt Removal-'81 Esprit Turbo

Need to remove left hand fuel tank to fix leak.To remove that side seat belt do I have to remove the wide plate that holds both belts? If not, how do I get at the locating bolts just on the left side seat belt reel? How can I remove the plastic cover on the reel?

You don't need to remove the wide plate that holds both belts.
Just remove the 4 scrws that hold on the black plastic cover over the belt reel and then undo the single bolt (17mm) from the very bottom of the belt
assembly.
