What are these cars like to own/run? looking at getting back into tvr ownership, but went to a dealer the other day where they had a 2000my RS4 Avant for sale. I didnt realise they were that sort of price now <20k. So it got me thinking....its about as practical a sportscar could ever be! Nowt like a tiv i know but hey! What sort of mpg do people generally get out of them, I read in evo stats it averaged 17mpg!! thats TVR cerbera figures! Is that a realistic quote?

I generally get about 18-20 mpg normal commuting - obviously depends how you drive it.

Personally I would look at a newer S4 for that sort of money. Still 340 bhp and a lot less cash to buy.

I ran mine for 2 years and it was a great car - only sold it due to baby arriving and the limited boot space when you have half of mothercare to kart round and a dog!

Always put a smile on my face when I drove it - got upto 27MPG on a run from London to The Alps - but seen low teens when you drive it a little harder!

I remember that the warranty became a little problematic as Audi stated that they couldn't sell them anymore and passed me onto a 3rd party that really didn't have a clue.

Typical solid Audi quality, only slight concern was the servicing costs rising as I went through the cam belt change at Audi + Full Service = £1200 - probably a lot cheaper at an indy!

All in all a great car fo rthe now sub £20k price. For my current needs the RS6's now look like a great buy for not much more blah but it will feel like you using the same fuel as a tanksmile
