RR Classic would you buy a Cat C?
Discussion
im currently considering buying an RR classic which is a cat C, it is going cheap for an LPG converted Vogue SE, i asked the seller and he said it had a dented front wing and smashed headlight which were repaired and a VIC test completed, its been through its MOT very recently so there cant be too much a miss with it, and its not like a classic is worth a fortune anyway, would this one be worth buying or should i buy a clear one?.
There's nothing wrong with a cat C if they've been repaired properly, the advantages with the Range Rovers and Discoveries is that they have separate chassis' so they're pretty easy and hardy.
The VIC check just involves checking the ID of the vehicle, not its roadworthyness, so it'd probably be a good idea to have an RAC inspection or take someone with intimate knowledge of the marque before parting with any reddies.
Prices for registered vehicles are usually about 30% less than list.

Doesn't the fact its a Cat C mean it was actually written off but repairable?
I can't for the life of me imagine an insurance company writing off a RR for the sake of a damaged wing and headlamp.
I agree with the last chap, you should get it thoroughly checked out because from here it smells decidedly fishy.
