Well, my 2004/54 plate Fabia vRS was taken away this morning by the lease company, for disposal at auction. Which is a bit of a sad way to part with an old mate. I've really loved that car, it's been brilliant, and I was very sad to see it go.

The new one arrived this afternoon. Race Blue, and it's got leva, premium choons, crooze, dark tints and bright red brake calipers (innit).

It's a bit 'Boy Racer' and ever so slightly 'Max Power' but fairly well done nonetheless, see what you think at the next Amber meet.

Would post pics, but it's dark now.

I didn't think you enjoyed driving the other one all that much, Warren?
(Rev-range, etc).

Damn, busted! biggrin

Well, slightly out of context, yes, you're right, I have said that Ian.

For hardcore hooning and generally ragging around for fun, the diesel wouldn't be my 1st choice.

[See numerous other threads on the subject]

But it's not mine though, it's a company car and all I can have is a cheap diesel five door. Under the fleet criteria, it is quite simply the best thing available to me, and they are very, very good. So i've had another.

shoutRob, time for a re-match, when i've run it in.

loser

I have always liked the Fabia vRS.

(Treat it to a nice +40bhp re-map).

Standard they are 130 bhp/231 lbft, re-mapped they are 170 bhp/310 lbft.

And they eat front tyres.

Have you seen the tuned Fabia vRS in Peterborough, (the owner works at a car tuning company as i recall), with 247 bhp and 406 lbs-ft?
It was tested in 'Performance Tuner' magazine about 6 months ago.
They are ridiculous figures for a 1.9 4-pot derv!!!

LAG like you wouldn't believe!

If you're sorted by a smaller-engined DERV, you'd best take a 2 year holiday!
