Well, my mid-life crisis is in full flow, and my latest plan was buy a Cerb!!! Next thing, a gleaming crystal topaz L/W lands on my drive. So far, excellent!

The comments I have recieved from the fairer sex thus far though, have been less than encouraging!

1. Its very nice, but I don't get the point! Its not very comfortable, why didn't you buy a BMW?
2. I don't mean to be critical, but I think the baffles have gone in your exhaust. (Sports exhaust was a fine investment then?)
3. What a stunning car, but why did you get one in such a girly colour???????
4. Do you know whats wrong with it? (Popping from sports exhaust!) ITS MEANT TO SOUND LIKE THAT!!!!
5. Whats wrong with door handles? BUT YOU JUST PUSH A BUTTON!!!
6. Genuinely impressed, told all her friends!

Are women getting harder to impress, or should I have bought the BMW?

My Missus bought the car for me wink and would you believe it she still hates getting in it now, even after 5 years,...'you're going too fast,' 'that wiper blade is in the way,' 'you're just a big kid'..and as a reply I've heard recently (thanks Bobmin) 'not a passenger but natures speed limiter!!!' laugh If it puts a smile on your face than censored to everyone else

Watch the short video to hear the usual comments I get...then more often than not it costs me a pub lunch rolleyes but then I always go for a pub that is a long enjoyable drive away....brownie points won with a smile on both sides thumbup

If we all listened to our heads, none of us would have a Cerb. It's a car you buy with your heart. Simple as that. smile

My Missus loves the car, always has. It's just she finds it very intimidating and therefore will not drive it. I think part of the fact is that she knows (because I bored her over so many years) that I’ve lusted after one and therefore was genuinely happy for me when I was at a stage where I could own one (and afford to look after it properly).

Other wimmin that I've had in the car <cough> have always been complimentary but I think that if they know it's an object AND hobby that you cherish then they're less likely to say something horrid to burst your bubble.

You could never say IMHO that you could have the same with a fckuing beemer.

ps my advice though - never try and snap knicker elastic with "a car" it is afterall a car. The chances of finding a lovely lady that is interested in you, + she knows about TVR and that also knows what a Legend the CERBERA is well...remote. I think the ladies are more likely to go for a BADGE - prefereably driven by a footballer. I was listening to a couple of young ladies in their mid 20's over the weekend discussing how shyt the new M3 was .....based mostly on the colour of the one her Dad had test driven. biggrin Now not my type of car but I am 100% sure the new M£ will not be shyt. May well be driven by a few though.

No offence to the many lovely TVR and Cerbera loving babes that frequent this board - you know you're special!

There is always the exception to the rule of course.
Last week in the centre of Newcastle i was parking up in a multi-storey car park and bottomed out on the crest of a ramp and whilst manovering into a space i noticed a lady cleaning a rubbish bin next to the parking space i was trying to fill. She kindly backed me in and when i got out she says that she noticed a rattle from the heat shield at the rear of the exhaust. This was infact true as i had noticed it myself a week earlier. I was impressed that she even knew what the noise was. After a a bit of a chat it turns out that she has two "plastic cars herself" (these being scimmiters) at home and just loves the noise of the TVR V8 but can't afford one at present. Amazing!
Saddly though she wasn't interested in my body!

I guess I should just be happy that I am taking some lovely ladies for a spin even if they 'don't get it!'

And on the bright side, none of them know how to get out!!!!

Things may be looking up with the latest comment, 'Theres not much room in the back!' She was probably just judging how many Tesco carrier bags would fit there?

My Missus has had an unending urge to dig my brains out with a spoon since buying the Cerb. ''Why can't you have a sensible car?..blah..blah..blah..'', though it is not the car itself that it the source of woe it is the constant drain on cash.

Been off road more than on. Should have been called 'Sucker Blue' not Antigua Bluehehe

Next one will be in Herring Red!
