I am trying to get a definitive answer regarding the actual colour of my Griff - I've already been told 3 different names - the Body Code is P4 22 TF8-9 - does this provide a clue? Anyone know? And anyone know where I can get a small tin of touch up paint?

Don't rely on names if you want to match it. There are over 30 different British Racing Greens.... All different shades with the same name! Use the body code and talk to a TVR dealer or body shop or get it colour matched.

Have a look here - you enter your paint code IIRC and can find out exactly what colour you have.

Edited to add: Forgot to mention. Go into Technical followed by On-line Colour Formulations.

When I saw yours in the showroom (I take it it was the one at David Geralds a few months back) it looked like Monza Red to me. It's definately not Rosso as TVR know it as that is a pearl finish.

However, just to confuse things the orginal owner may have specced Rosso Corsa (Ferrari Red I believe). It should tell you on the build information in the handbook, but TVR will certainly be able to tell you from the paint code.

Cheers

DC and D41 CAP (think we met a few weeks back when I collected my blue Tuscan from a fettling)

Ian,

Not sure how to put a pic in the profile (erm! thick or what?). If you get Sprint it was on a double page spread of Morgan's Mutterings in May.

Does look very similar although mine is possibly brighter (hence Mrs. M says it's vulgar!!)

But I have just checked and the body code on mine is P420-YD92. I did manage to find a touch up in Halfords that is Ford Rosso Red. It looks similar but I haven't tested it on the car yet.

Thanks to Big Al for the link to an older posting and to Ewelme Coachworks (www.tvrbodyrepairs.com) I now appear to have a match. My coding was wrong - it wasn't T8-9 at the end but T8-B - possibly hence the thought it could be Barbie Pink!! I think my engine area needs cleaning!!

According to Ewelme it is Honda R77, which is Formula Red.

I know you have all been waiting with baited breath for this info, so there you have it. Oh! And they said it wasn't a perfect match - just 95%

Thanks for all who helped - now got to get me a jug of touch up and we're away............
