Hi all

Bit of a cheeky request - Im fairly new to the PH forums and have just bought myself a nice TVR T350 that I am enjoying very much.

Been asking around on the TVR forums about the local TVR specialists and even though there a quite a few good ones for servicing and sorting and major issues they are not exactly local if I want to just pop in and get someone who knows what theyre doing look at the car.

Does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Leeds area who is competent with specialist sports cars that they trust who i can also use as my local mechanic for the odd little jobs that I dont wanna travel 100 miles to sort out?

Thanks in advance

Yeah - Track V Road have come very highly reccommended and thats probably who i'll use for big things, but want to try and find a good local mechanic who is in Leeds and is used to sports cars who can do the simple jobs for me and give me a good honest opinion on things. Hopefully this will save a bit of cash on unneccesary trips over to Clitheroe when I just ned a quick opinion.

Thanks for the advice though and another tick in the box for Track V Road

I'd be delighted to help if I can be of assistance. I suspect that there are a few on here who would be happy to vouch for my competence with all things TVR......

^^^^Is That Andy Turner replying to the post or someone else^^^^

That would be great - I have only been in Leeds for 18m and had a BM 330ci beforehand so had a good couple of indys close by that Ive always used, but I really want to find a good local mechanic who I can trust and is comfortable with all things hand built and sporty. Any major issues will be sorted by Track V Road probably but theyre just so far away and cant pop in for a 2nd opinion on anything.

Someone else ... a someone else who decides to strip down and rebuild his BMW M-Sport V12 because he thinks that it could probably do with it biggrin

He also, after my Griff 500 was comprehensively buggered up by another supposedly competent independent, totally transformed the car yes

I also use him for servicing my work hack 525 TDS and what would otherwise have been a new rear window wiper motor, was stripped down, found to be chock solid with various road gunge and salt, cleaned out and rebuilt as good as new. Probably saved me about £100 there alone.

I second Scotts post

I know Andy is very good with older TVRs than yours
but also knows a lot of TVR idiosyncracies as well
He rebuilds V8s all the times and provides engines for many
of the top stock car racing guys as well

He has my new 400SE at this very moment for MOT (passed)
and a few minor idiosyncracies, and also had a nice E-Type Jag in

Cheers
Richard

Two very good recommendations indeed

Both Andy and Talkwrench can be trusted with TVR's yes or indeed with any vehicle!!!

I would be more than happy taking any car to either or both thumbup
