I get my PS3 tomoro and i am excited, finally decided to take the plunge and get a 60Gig model.
Could someone tell me if i need to buy anything else that is not supplied in the box. I have a normal telly with scart leads at the mo. Does it come with a scart adaptor lead, or am i better off getting a RGB scart lead?
Thanx any help much appriciated!

comes with scart - only need to buy extras if you want more controllers or HDMI - neither of which is required (as you say you dont have a HDTV?)

Good choice on console - get the GT5 demo straight away (NOT the gt:hd demo) - and you'll be pleased that you got it!

Good call, you won't be disappointed! I got mine last week and was very impressed with how easy it was to set up for the internet and for online play.

I too have a SD telly, and it looks just fine to me. However do people think it will be worth me getting the component cable??

Depends if your tv will support anything higher than 480i, if yes, then go for it.

The telly supports progressive scan, so I'm thinking it might be worth it, as the boggo composite leads into scart adapter set up seems a bit compromised.

I'll treat myself then!! Only got one set of component inputs though so I'll have to relegate the DVD player to scart...

The PS3 will probably do a better job than the DVD player, so relegate that to holding down paper or keeping a door ajar.

If you TV supports component, get it you will notice the differance.

I'd say there is a bigger improvement from Scart to Component, than there is from Component to HDMI.

biggrin Fair point, although I don't want to wear the PS3 out prematurely spinning DVD's...

You will need to check if your telly has component inputs before getting a component cable though, some do not!!

It does, although only one set, hence the comment above about having to downgrade the DVD player biggrin

I'll try and pick a set of cables up this weekend me-thinks.
