saab 9000 shutting down
Discussion
My uncles got a rather tidy looking 9000 turbo, trouble is there is a fault with it somewhere.
the theory is its something to do with the traction control/engine speed sensor... every now and then when changing gear, the car shuts down and coasts to a halt, taking a random amount of time to reset before it will restart...
has anyone come across anything like this?
cheers

What year is it?
If it a Trionic 93/93 onwards car it could be the crank position sensor, or the DI (direct ignition) cartridge (red thing that sits in the cam cover gap).
DI cartridge's do tend to just fail though more often than not, and you can usually small them, that burnt electrical smell.
However, fault could well be something else of course.
