Anyone know if tyres bought in the US will pass SVA. I know they'll be DOT approved but was unsure about the "E" marking

It depends if they're E-Marked, anything without an E Mark will fail.

I think it's a shot in the dark as to whether what you're buying will be a european spec, probably best to ask in advance.

Just had a responce to an email from SVA .....

The DOT tyres wil be acceptable as long as the nominal size, load and speed indecies are stated on the tyres.

(obviously) and was wondering if you could tell me if tyres bought from the USA will pass the SVA test. These tyres are DOT-approved but was unsure if US tyres are ok in Europe

Classic case of double standards.

If a tyre garage fits non-emarked tyres they get taken to court!

tyres from usa will not comply with sva regs and its lot of money and time to waste i.e. hoosiers

I think its the "E" marking thats the problem ... also when you look into it they're not a great deal cheaper anyway
