finally managed to get hold of a wii from Argos, but does anyone know where you can get a wii play which is the extra contraoller and the addidtional games. I have tried ebay but they are asking crazy money.

Try electrical retailers, comet, currys, john lewis etc. While stock of the wii is a big problem, stock of its accessories isnt.

Wii play with remote is about £35 in the one of those I work for.

179 in argos if you can get hold of them, it has taken me a week to find one anywhere

Comet. Cant be certain on national stock of the wiiplay with remote, as there is no sign of it on the website, but individual stores may have them (mine did last week when i was last in), as the number sold relates directly to the number of wiis sold, ie not very many.

Standard price for the console is 179.99

Although as the OP says, you will be incredibly lucky to get one before christmas unless you want to pay over the odds on eBay.

I struggled to get hold of Wii play too until one of the Game guys told me to try one of their 'minor' Game shops in Debenhams. This was in Cardiff. They had loads!

So my advice is to visit all the franchise stores in Department stores.

Wii Play in Sainsburys and Game here. £35. Controller and a couple of naff games.
