Something I've been wondering about as I gradually replace all the mild steel bolts with stainless- if I'm using nyloc nuts, do I *NEED* to use spring washers as well???

As far as I am aware if you are using nyloc nuts spring washers should not be required.
The only possible exception I can think of is if the nyloc is likely to be near somewhere hot as the nylon could melt and run out.
