Hi
Looking to get my Elise over to the RMA track days at the Nurburgring next Thursday 8th/Friday 9th as last 2 times i have driven over my alternator has failed on the way back... Not fun....
Does anyone know if anyone has any space at a fair price?
Regards
My clients who race in the LOT series usually drive them to the events. But they do use a trailor every so often, which you can rent and attach to your normal road car? Also, a bunch of guys from the LOT series used a truck service to get some of their cars over to Spa, for the race.Looking to get my Elise over to the RMA track days at the Nurburgring next Thursday 8th/Friday 9th as last 2 times i have driven over my alternator has failed on the way back... My understanding being very non-technical is that they are not easy to change on a Mk 1 Elise
Not sure how many miles I could get out of a spare 2nd battery with no alternator?
Not sure about this as i dont know much about elise's but would it be worth changing the pulley size to alter the gearing on the alternator to prevent it over speeding, presumably its lots of High RPM's that's eating your alternator. I've doen this on my frogeye race car on the water pump and alternator. Not sure how many miles I could get out of a spare 2nd battery with no alternator?
