More to the point would the neighbours still speak to you if you had a chimp?

If a chimp can clear I would say The Griffith would too IMHO.....after all everything the Chimp can do The Griff can do better wink
I would even hazard a guess that there is more clearance with the Griffith due to having a more sleek Nose cone.

And not forgetting the Griff has a lovely petite and rounded arse, unlike the fat lardy thing the Chimaera drags around.

Some have observed that it's like comparing the rear ends of JLO and Jo Brand. wink

dont you people love all things tvr?? i agree i prefer a griff but funds may be an issue so playing by it by ear really and hoping to snap up a winter bargain.so sounds like clearance wont be a problem.as for neighbours, its been a while since i saw it and i cant hit a golf ball for love or money.

Serious answer here - look at the front & rear overhangs and compare. The Griff's are much shorter than the Chim, so if a Chim gets up your drive a Griff will too.

HOWEVER....... don't rely on the handbrake of either otherwise you may find your Chim/Griff on the other side of the road or in your neighbour's garden!!!!

I would doubt that any two Griff’s run the same ride height anyway….

Cheers,

Simon.

car will be living in garage its the steep drive to it that concerned me.i guess shorter wheel base should make life easier.

I suspect it's more down to the individual car than the name on the boot.

How about finding the minimum ground clearance needed, then simply take a ruler when you go shopping?

Apart from that, as you say they're pretty much the same apart from appearance, so choose the one you like the look of best.

i think the scraping noise your car makes going over anything larger than somebody's foot just adds to the unique driving experience.

I have heard so many bad things about TVR handbrakes...the brand new Tamora that rolled backwards into the proud new owner's parent's front wall! I must be lucky because, the handbrake on my Griff is honestly very good, and always has been? I had not realised how bad they can be, until I borrowed my mate's Chimaera and found the handbrake pulled right up and did almost nothing!

The handbrake has two positions:

(1) No effect
(2) Works but you need both hands to get the bastard off.

I think they file some of the teeth off the ratchet specially to get this effect.
