Just had some Toyo R888's fitted on my car for track day on Saturday, I take the extra noise and drones are normal from these tyres?

Yes, the stuka effect is normal.

They will get a bit better when worn - I only notice the drone now at certain speeds, when they were new I noticed it all the time.

I had a very loud howl like a failed dif or wheel bearing - atrocious noise. Possibly made worse by negative camber on the GT3RS. The noise started at 60 mph and disappeared at 100 mph. Wont use them a gain - ruined a great weekend driving 300 miles to Anglesey and 300 miles back.

They're great on my clio. The howling from the tyres helps drown out the rattly trim and shot wheel bearings. I use them every day at the minute.

You get used to it and the awesome grip and sheer hoot of having them more than makes up for the drone.

Agreed - drone away at cruising speed but a stickier tyre for the price I am yet to find!
