ACE cafe North?

I've just been having a chat with an acquaintance (well, a patient actually) who is opening a new m/bike shop and cafe/lounge in Worksop. It will be based around the bike dealership, and accessory/clothing shop, but after chatting with him, he is keen to get people coming in for meets and to sit around drinking coffee and chatting etc. very much in the ACE cafe style. I've told him there's loads of bikers and TVR/sports car owners who would be interested.

So, if anyone fancies a meeting up point, it's called DAT Enterprises, opens 1st. December on Turner Street in Worksop. Worksop is a hole, but it sounds like a nice facility.

That sounds like great idea. He'd need to promote it himself, with a schedule of regular themed nights, I reckon.
It being in Worksop shouldn't be a problem, the area around Ace is a hole as well.

They have just bought £8k of sofas to put in the lounge, so must be comfy!

Sounds good to me, just a few miles down the road from Sheffield and it's not a bad run down the A57. I took the Vette out a couple of months ago on a Sunday morning and looked for a cafe round Workshop area, eventually found a top notch greasy spoon on the A60.

One point - he may want to work on the name, it sounds like a fly-by-night trading company, there's no fun/romance/anything to hint at a motoring meetup.

I mean

"Hey, let's meet up at the Ace, have a few laughs then convoy" vs.
"Let's meet up at uh, DAT Enterprises, and fill out some forms".

Forget the rest of the word Enterprises and just keep the 'E' ... then you have a DATE

I asked about car parking, and what they've done is taken over a now redundant Dixons dealership, so it's attached to a 130-space car lot. So loads of room. the DAT is Dave, Alan and Tim, who got together to set it up. They're currently negotiating for bike franchises.

As has already been said ... A161 out of the back of Goole ... fantastic stretch of road for about 10 miles

It is where I spent a couple of hours working on cornering skills and road position on my Ride Drive Course.

I would think, if we met up at Goole, the we should do DAT or is it DATE around 45/50 mins

Though I've only ever driven it during the day in the dry, not sure about this time of year in particular Mud, lot of tractors down there....

Thats its name a161, also did the Ridedrive thing down there about 6 weeks ago - Luuuurvvv DAT road

I've been to this venue and I think it is the place most likely to succeed in 2008.

They are catering for most pistonheads very well. For example they will be stocking exotic motors to get people in - 2 Ferrari engined Corvettes are booked for February.

Mostly though they want to be a one stop shop for bikes and trikes. Not a single dedicated dealership - very refreshing to us mavericks,
They have Enfields and Sunbeams through to "get yer knee down" 'Busas and Ninjas with all sorts in between. If you want a lairy quad bike for junior or a tear ass kit car (for less than £8k!) for your self then its in their showroom now.

I was particularly impressed with the work on show from their custom painter - I might have my Triumph Stag painted with ghost flames -only joking.

HUGE breakfast available, in nice surroundings, for a lot less than a fiver.

Apparently they will have an Official Open day sometime in late January / early February with James Toseland opening it and Bennett's Babes etc. Must be worth a look.

I'll let you all know when I know the date.
