hi need advice on getting new number plates made up, on ebay there is an add for new plates made to order which have on the left hand side "TVR" which i think looks great! but would this be road legal, the size of the plate and lettering are all standard, any advice if you think that this would be ok

I fear not, guidelines here...

Petty beyond belief IMHO, but anything which may hinder their Plate Recognition System is a no-no rolleyes

If your after number plates, I've always used www.fancyplates.com

Seem well priced and arrived within a few days. Although with the postal strike, it may take longer.

For what it's worth I had an MOT failure because the spacing between the first two characters was out by 4mm!

If you want some interesting plates I'd suggest getting two sets - the nice pair and the pair for the MOT test - can't believe how arsey the testers can be about tedious and unimportant details! It's a joke when you see some of the plates people have that are so blatantly illegal.

Rant over.

All best,
Neville

Perhaps I've just been lucky so far, but I've not had any issues with my plates yet (picture in profile). I do carry a spare 100% compliant set just in case though wink

I also use fancyplates - they are really good and from previous experience its the much safer option.

Only other thing I would consider for the T350 is the vinyl plates on the nose - but there are questions around those also....

For all your number plate needs try Simon at Ant Graphics... he'll advise you on all you need to know, what you can get away with and make you up whatever you need in the way of number plates...

My sincere advise is, if you're going to misrepresent, alter the spacing, or modify the plate in any way have a set of 100% legal plates in the boot so when your friendly local police bod has a word about the legality of your digits you can slap the legal ones on and walk away without being £30 lighter. Last time it happened to me the PC advised me that if he sees me floating about with 'YO' rather than 'Y8', he can let the DVLA know (who can revoke my plate) etc... but as I was carrying a set of legal plates at the time gave me a warning... lucky lucky!
