Help

I am looking for a cheap and safe (cage etc) trackday car which can be driven to and from the track. Any idea where to look?

Also if anybody want to sell me their car please e-mail!

Agreed!

Why would you have such a car and not use it on track?

in your " My Cars " section you list
Porsche 997TT
Ultima Gtr
Even a 2002 touring
Why would you want a Cheap Track car you would be so un-happy with the performance compared with you " Normal " road cars.
`just get out there and use the Porker or Ultima ! driving

The track day cars and race cars sections here on PH usually have a decent selection of cheapish stuff.

Hello Guy,
The best thing to do IMHO is to trawl through the small adds here and similar and see if you can find a cost effective BMW M3 e36. There has never been a better time to buy and for a few extra quid you can fully equip the car ( roll cage, a half cage will be ample, bucket seat, harness etc. and you are away! ). The cars are extremely robust, easy to work on, parts are relatively inexpensive and letts face it, the M cars were almost made for this exact purpose.

Thanks for getting back. Just missed a car in the classifieds yesterday. I know that the Ultima is the best bet for the track but I want something that I can crash and walk away financially. Both cars would cost more in insurance than I could pick up a car such as Wayne suggested. The ultima has been known to do the odd runway run in the past!

I would prefer not to crash in any car;
and if I were in your position I would use the Ultima and spend the money you would have spent buying a 'disposable' car on good instruction.

Problem is that it does not have to be that gets it wrong and off goes the car. Old one make series car or a track modified old bm is good enough for me. Fun and not ultimate top speed!

For example a slight off and damage to rear clip would cost the price of some of these cars!

Hopefully in couple of wks i'll be out of plaster & off these flipping crutches, never know tho, might be a lot longer ;(

So its not great obviously as cant drive the truck, but I do have a couple of options for getting stuff moved as a few guys do stuff for me on occasion & for a couple of clients that I just can't let down & wnat me personally im lucky that its my left leg so can drive my auto discovery & take a buddy along to load it up etc.
