Hello,

I've already searched the forum's on this matter and know that my boot release solenoid is potentially at fault but I need to get into the boot first to check it! Using my modwise release results in the solenoid clicking but not actuating, so it must be stuck.

I've read the owners manual but can't find details on emergency boot entry?

Can someone kindly drop me an email on how to get into the boot, all other electrics are ok!

I need to get some petrol but I'm stuffed currently!!

Thanks

Big Al.

Have you tried operating the switch with somebody else just putting light pressure (on and off) on the boot lid?

Failing that drop me a mail. smile

Hi, Big Al emailed me some guidance which i'll try out tomorrow.

I'll drop you a line anyway incase you have a differing approach to resolve this.

Many Thanks!

Success, boot now open and solenoid works!

Many Thanks to Big Al and Ballistic Banana for their email info on ways of mechanical boot entry!

Once open, the solenoid now operates correctly either via the dash button or my my modwise entry. I can only assume the aged solenoid is arthritic and seized temporarily.

I'll get a new solenoid from Maplin as a back up just in case.

Its great that fellow PHers are willing to assist even by the smallest of means!

It's here as a reminder to others!

I've given up counting the number of these comments I've had to remove over the years.
