Could i have a buckled wheel? (spiders) how can i check? have a vibration at 85 90 which is a little unnerving. I have now changed all 4 tyres to new eagle f1s and balanced all wheels, new front shocks and rear diff bushes but its still there grrr! so I'm now thinking it could be a buckled wheel but if it is woudnt it be there at any speed? and how can i tell? visually they all look fine and if it is then i would of thought they would of noticed at the tyre fitters, help!

Could be - or it could be something else such as a prop shaft out of balance. I would expect a buckled rim to be visible if you spin it with the tyre off, but you would have to be looking for it. I doubt your average tyre fitter will do this as a matter of course.

Loose bolt somewhere in the suspension?

Brake disc warping when it heats up?

Worth checking 'cos, as unlikely as it sounds, I've had both happen on mine and both had the symptoms you complain of.

Thanks for the pointers guys looks like i have some investigation work to do. think ill start with all the bolts etc then prop then wheels, but i don't think it could be wheels as it only kicks in at 85 90 and surely a buckled wheel would be noticeable at lower speeds? stupid car curse

I would strongly suspect a buckled wheel.I,ve had one and its at those speeds that it appeared. If you had the wheels on a computer balancer then the problem would show up right away.

Hmm yes that's what i would of thought but just had tyres all round and they never mentioned that anything was wrong which is whats making me think its the prop. Its not coming through the steering, feels like the whole cars shaking. confused

Think ill will take a trip down to the local tyre fitters it the week see if they can check the wheels out.

Wheels that are buckled do not always cause viabration, it has to be a really bad buckle to do this. Can you feel it through the steering wheel or is it through the whole car?

Possibly could be throttle bodies req'r balancing if it gets worse as you drive along, if it was a doggy wheel then would'nt they have noticed this when balancing the wheels, just a thought and my be talking utter censored but you seemed have gone through most of the obvious.

Sounds more like rotating mass problem to me, i dont know how the props are balanced, but if they are the welded on type then its possible that one has come off. But you will have to drop the exhaust and heat shield to do this. I assume that you have grabbed the drive shafts and give em a good wiggle, just to make sure all that lot is not baggy?

Just had the engine tuned and its running like a dream so its definitely something that's spinning ie wheels or prop. Drive shafts ok as just fitted new drive shaft boots and all seemed fine there.

Will check wheels again as that's quite easy. i guess a wheel will still balance ok if its buckled otherwise they would have noticed when i had the tyres fitted. and if one of them is buckled then it ll probably only be slightly buckled as its only showing itself at higher speeds.
