Anyone know of players in/near Ipswich that repair alternators? It may be easier for me to get one repaired than to take it back and source another one. It fails to charge above 2,000rpm for some reason...

Hi Paul

Nacton Auto Electrics. Cracking company, I've used them in the past & they have always come through...

They are based on the small industrial estate on "Leslie Road" off Nacton Road.

Don't talk to me about alternators !!! I spent all day yesterday laying under my Sons MR2 replacing the alternator. What a bitch of a job ! Also nearly £150 exchange for a new alternator. yikes

Thanks guys, will give them a call tomorrow smile

I need a 100amp alternator to allow a new 2.4 inlet manifold from the states to fit. Some VXs have the 120, some have a 100. I spent ages removing a 100amp one from pretty new Vectra in a scrap yard and have fitted it only to find out it's fault frown If I take it back for a refund I'm only going to have to source another frown
