funny though the police aren't bothered when it's tv cameras following them (road wars etc)

I seem to remember that it is ilegal to warn other drivers that there is a speed trap ahead by flashing your lights or other forms of signaling.
Strange that I thought the whole point of speed cameras with signs was to get motorists to slow down in certain zones and not just to make money and/or catch speeding motorists. It just prooves that it is just about figures be they financial or targets for the individual plod.
Doesn't make sense to me. If there is an accident black spot or drivers that speed and put other people in danger then there are tried and tested ways of slowing cars down and educating people into slowing down for a reason.
