Retrofiting Painted Centre Console

I thought it would be nice to replace the standard black centre console in my second hand 996 with a painted item to match the car's Arctic Silver exterior and make the car a bit more "mine", so I bought one via the 'net from 911Design.
Naively, I thought the new unit would come with a nice printed and illustrated set of instructions taking me step by step through removing the old one and fitting the new one (even if the latter bit would be covered in the classic Haynes manual "refitting is the reverse of removal").
However, it didn't!
For all the very obvious reasons, I don't want to rely on guesswork and start ripping bits apart - so does anyone out there know what needs to be done?
I've also sent a note to Design911 asking for advice.
