Right.... I finally managed to persuade my Dad to drive old Bluey, so yesterday afternoon we set off down to Silverstone performance, to have a blast on their rolling road.

I met Phil AKA BossCerbera, and talking of Boss Cerbera, what did I find...but the beast itself. I've never seen it in the flesh, and always presumed it was Black, however, it's more of A dark Green / flip affair. It's rear exhaust was missing, however he started it up, and yikes.... That mother's loud, and I mean LOUD.

There was a group of young lads from the Kettering/Northampton area having A day there, and I tagged on at the end.

I saw an ST Fiesta 150bhp, Saxo 99BHP, Saxo VTS 110bhp, Focus RS 250bhp, Corsa with Calibra Turbo engine 197BHP, 2 x Audi TT Quatros 225 & 250 bhp and my favourite, A Subaru Forester STI, which I didn't know they made. One young lad said to the young driver, "come on Grandad" smile, and his car subsequently stumped up 281 bhp. There had been A load more through, that I'd already missed.

Then it was my turn, up steps the 4.5

343 bhp, and 330lb, A trip to DR. Joo required for a remap, on that one, me thinks.

Then up steps the "old girl"

346bhp & 330lb. I'm quite pleased with that. Eleven years old, and due to a lack of space, she's been sat face down on the drive gathering water in the ignition coils. In fact, at low revs and hard acceleration, she had a misfire, so I'll get that sorted. She actually put in a 349 before that, but it got disqualified due to "running lean"....at least I think that's what he said smile

I've always felt the 4.2 was quicker, and with it being over 100kg lighter, I can now see why.

It was nice to see the Blue one in the rear view mirror, and I remember thinking how low it was, and you couldn't see any daylight beneath it. Also, they look the nuts with the front plate missing...I really must get that put back on winksmile

I glimpsed an MG pull up along side, on the way down, and the passenger appeared to be filming with A camcorder. Either that, or he had A fire extinguisher at the ready, in case either of us combusted.

My Dad sees how much I spend on the cars, and the various niggles and it always saying "get shot"... however 150 miles later, his outlook on them has changed somewhat smile

The journey back (to the pub smile) started just after 5, so it was dark.

As we reflected over a couple of pints, he said "do you know large blue flames come out of the exhausts, when you're slowing down ?" "They take it in turns, one side to the other"

Michael Knight & K.I.T. ..... take notice smile

End of a good day biggrin

Yeh, I'm quite pleased with old bluey.

I wonder if the old girl will improve with a couple of "dry" coil packs ? laugh

I fancy doing Naples next year, and keeping my eye on the oil, will do my head in. So if I keep her, I'd be inclined to get her freshened up at the next 12K service.

Let your Dad have A drive of the car.

You'd be surprised the effect they have on people who've not drove them before. I think he enjoyed the whole experience that went with having the two cars in convoy more than anything. Somebody filming, A minibus full of kids all clambering over the seats to get to the back to have a look.

It's all A bit mad isn't it, for a 10K car ? laugh

oooooh, that reminds me.... I ventured across a 911 4S that was clearly up for a play. But seeing the old man behind me, sweating buckets, in the dark, trying to follow me with the sat nav... made me think better of it.

See.. I can be sensible sometimes angel

Hi ya Nick wavey, I hadn't realised you'd been there, and Phil never mentioned anything.

I was in the chair, for the rolls & coffees, so you missed out on that one smile

Had a similar experience driving home this evening.

Driving past the local fireworks display and the police were out in force. Loads of traffic cones and flashing lights to slow the traffic and policemen standing ether side of the road directing everyone. So as i sneaked past, if you can sneak in a decated cerb with 3inch sports pipes hehe i herd one of them say cooor! look at that! and laughed then the other one gave a big cheer! as i disappeared into the darkness.

So a big bigup to our boys in blue cop

Different car Joo... think Marcs car sold a few months back to someone new, before that it was owned by PH'er Nick33. smile

Congrats on the results Russ, let Joo tweak the 4.5 before deciding which of the two to keep.. wink Trust me... the 4.5 when mapped with induction is a totally different beast. evil

BCA's right Joo, twas a different car. I seem to remember R666TVR being on A Cerb when I first joined the forum though.

Hi Carl, I saw the figures for your 4.2, and the big difference I noticed, was that your Torque seems to come on tap earlier than mine thumbup. I need to get rid of one of them, as there's no space on the drive. So if I keep the 4.5, I'd want to see it on the better side of 380. Looking at other threads, I'm guessing that's A re map, induction & linked de cats. Surprisingly I thought the 4.5 would sell first, but I've speaking to someone about the 4.2 A couple of times last week, and there's more chance she may go first. I must concede, the Purple Illusion colour is more of A "looker" than the Blue car. But I'm not bothered which one I keep.
