Exhuast for 996 TT
Discussion
MANU kindly sent this info through to me:
The first thing I must advise you to do is to go to our website www.scuderiasystems.com and click onto the “Media” section and have listen to the videos of the 996 Turbo with the Tubi exhaust fitted....... Worldwide, all Tubis (Euro and US) sound like the car in the videos.
The system has been designed to fit the GT2, X50 TT and standard TT - there are no compatibility issues.
All PROPER EXHAUSTS for the 996TT MUST have race cats - if you free up the silencer and add noise, the resulting loss in backpressure given to the cats means they have insufficient temperature to work properly. The Tubi comes with integrated race cats (all in one unit). This sounds complex - it's not - the whole unit, just like your standard system is plug-in and play - ther are NO technical implications.
The good thing is, on turbo cars, having race cats means more power – the Tubi can give as much as 20hp and a fantastic sound. (The reason for the power increase is that Turbos are driven by driven by diverted exhaust flow making them particularly sensitive to backpressure. Easing backpressure allows the turbos to spool up faster and at lower throttle openings giving large power increases from simple modifications.)
Better still, there are no technical implications, no warning lights, no conversion and absolutely no invasive work – bolt-on/bolt-off fitting – with a warranty that stretches to the entire life of the car.
There is a downside of course - the need to have race cats means that all systems will be pricey.
This system is so popular in the USA that it carries a 6-month waiting list.
What is important is the thought and engineering that have gone into the exhaust system. How many other manufacturers have supplied an F1 team (Ferrari and now McLaren) or have their own sonic chambers to develop the perfect sound. Tubi ONLY build sport exhaust systems – It’s their speciality. The vast majority of exhaust manufacturers (including RUF) simply build a replica stainless steel box and tear out the baffling to add volume. No thought is given to the sound, backpressure requirements or genuine use of the car – the only thing that happens is that the car is made louder. Our products are different - they sound spectacular, never resonate, never boom and are always in keeping with car.
We know the product and are at lengths to emphasise that the customer is NOT taking a risk by buying it. We offer a no quibble full satisfaction guarantee. If you do not like the system we take it straight back, re-fit your stock system, give you a full refund and also reimburse any other expenses you may have incurred. Even if you think it's not good value for money - we'll take it back.
Tubi Exhaust 996TT: £2680 + vat - Fitting is free. By comparison, the RUF exhaust is £4065 + vat (!!!) and the Techart is £2980 + vat) .
Attached are a few pictures of the system.
Delivery currently stands at 3-4 weeks (liable to change).
More than anything though, the car just sounds plain awesome with the Tubi, but do give me a call on 01784 434395 to order any of the products or discuss options/queries etc...

Anyone had this fitted? Anyone heard the finished article? Will it invalidate my warrenty?
Comments please! Cheers -

Turbofree (Dave) had one fitted. Email him through his profile after searching the member directory. It was supplied by Scuderia Systems and Dave is happy with it as far as I know. He was less impressed with the waiting time, but sometimes you have to wait for the things you really want

Buster, I like you am looking for more interactive sound from my TT & we had a discussion on sports exhausts a few weeks ago. I had a Cargraphic system on a previous C2 & although this sounded fantastic inside at high revs it also sounded a little like a very loud tractor on part throttle & around town. Apparently 100 cell cats do make the Turbo LOUD & my local OPC tell me one of his Turbo owners has had a system taken off because he couldn't live with it, this has made me decide to take my time. Manu seems like a really good guy & Tubi has a great name, so would be interested to know how you get on ,the video car also sounds nice, so let me know if you hear it in the "flesh".

I had mine fitted by Tech 9 in Aylesbury and it was awesome.
Race cats, exhaust and air filter around £2.5k also made a huge difference to the performance.
Lee what make did you get & what did it sound like on part throttle, outside the car in town ?
Not sure what make it was? sounded awesome on tick over (alot deeper note to it) and got louder as the right foot went down at around 4000 RPM it really came to life, in my mind the TT needs a sports exhaust.
Race cats really free up the car on accelaration too.
In the car was louder but not over bearing at all.
