Finally took the plunge!!!!
Discussion
Have been looking at these classifieds for ages now, and finally found the one i have been searching for.A 1998 Paris blue 4.5 in North Devon. So wife and i flew down friday night and drove her back(car that is!)saturday to Glasgow. 500 miles, what a day! Now i know what you guys and gals have been talking about. I thought my Aston V8 was fast but this thing puts the "F" in fast! Drove kind of sedately 75 to 80 most of the way with just a few short bursts to keep the wife awake! A big thank you to Wayne and Beryl for their hospitality and for looking after such a fine example, shes now tucked up tight in her new garage.
Now onto some serious stuff. My fuel guage light aint working , how do i change the bulb without breaking it? Does anyone have a handbrake that holds their car. Whats the best kind of child seat and can they only run on super unleaded or will ordinary unleaded do,as both aren't always available. All replies gratefully received. SVM .

Hi Derek
Welcome to the world of Cerbera ownership.
I'm think it's a head in the footwell job (there are quite a few of them) but I'm sure you can change the fuel gauge lamp without having to remove the gauge itself. Just get down there and have a careful poke about behind the lower instrument pod. You should be able to remove the lampholder from the rear. A word of warning, "Watch those damn ribbon cables"
I was also under the impression all Cerbera handbrakes are sh1t.
Don't know much about the child seats, sorry.
I only run mine on Super as 95 Octane makes her pink like hell.
Best of luck
Simon

Bulb....seat back down- into car backwards-head under steering wheel- up against pedals- remove wing nuts holding cowling under steering column and remove-look up and see 2 further wing nuts under dash top(might need a torch)- carefully push arm up and remove- try and wiggle out of contorted position-(wife may have to phone for firebrigade/ambulance at this stage!!
)-carefully remove dash top and back of gauges will be revealed- change bulb-carryout reverse to reassemble!
Handbrake...Mine was crap till Joos at TCS modified it. Not sure what he did exactly but involved some form of rerouting handbrake cable to make the pull on it more effective. Worked wonders after!
Seat As suggested, do a search here. Purpose made seats become available from time to time, and others will Im sure tell you what other alternatives there are.
Enjoy your Cerbera ...just sold mine after 4 years of fantastic ownership!

Your getting your bulbs and guages mixed up

You may need to do the abpve one day to get to the Speedo, Rec Counter and Temp/Oil guages, but the fuel guage light is a real easy one to do.It is possible to do this by 'feel' just sitting in the drivers seat and feeling up behind the lower instrument pod. For easier access pull of the Hose that goes to the lower fresh air vent - but it may have been glued on so if it is really tight and too much hassle leave it.
The Fuel guage pulb sits in a little plastic holder that is just a simple push in to the guage itself, no twisting or clips, so it may have just fallen out. If you reach in behind the guage, gently pull on the wires and pull out the bulb and the holder. When reassembling it's easier if it is dark inside the car, turn on the lights to light up the bulb, then looking at the guage, move the lighted bulb around and slowly guide it into the holder.

Handbrakes are useless just remmember to leave her in gear when parked up.

Even if you think she seems ok on the handbrake. The trouble is the discs expand when hot which is when you apply the hadbrake. When they cool and contract the handbrake won't hold and off she rolls.
I don't use the handbrake although the handle holds the takeaway nicely!!

As above, TCS has a cunning modification which makes the handbrake much better. If you've got an Emerald ECU you can have a (switchable) map for 95 RON but otherwise I'd stick to V-Power or equivalent.
