after a bit of digging i found a borg and beck dealer,autospares, sutton auto factors.phoned the guy karl there,who was very helpfull,and who suggested i send my knacked clutch to him for identification. so did this and he has matched up a kit for my s3 (type n gearbox and 2.9 engine). prices are £39 for a recon kit and £59 plas vat for a new one. well chuffed
their number is 0115 964 7600. does anyone know how to put this into the parts list?

Clutch in the 2.9 cars is a 240mm Ford unit as used in 2.9 4x4 and XR4i.
Also, 2WD Sierra Cossie clutch fits - just check splines for the drive. This is what I had in mine.

I have a Motorcraft unit now, that has done 28,000 hard (Sprint / Hillclimb) miles and is still good!
Costs peanuts - just takes HOURS to change!
I think Burton Power do some good uprated units at reasonable prices.
