Vinyl Advice

Hello,

I recently bought this S2 which has a repair to the rear quarter.



It could do with a full respray, but I was wondering if a cheaper short-term solution might be to cover the patched area with a vinyl of some description (I'm thinking maybe a billowing union jack or chequered flag or something like that).

I was hoping that someone with some experience could advise if it would be possible to get a good finish in that area of the car, and if so how much I should expect to pay.

A good spray shop will be able to paint just the area & blend it in with the rest. Much cheaper than a full respray.

The thing is, the gel-coat on the bonnet is cracked as well, so if I put it in for a respray I really want to do the whole car, but I just can't justify that cost at the moment. I'm hoping that the vinal option is a fairly cheap alternative to driving around with red and white splodges on the back

The larger Halfords can mix a big tin of touch-up spray for less than a tenner. With care you could make a reasonable job and IMO it would look better.

You won't get a factory finish with an aerosol, but you could spray it this way then maybe do some kind of graphics on top?
