I've had the Chimaera 400 for 2 weeks now and had lots of fun and no drama thus far despite a 600+ mile trip to Cornwall and back over a weekend.
I've noticed though that if you listen carefully over the marvellous exhaust note there is a light tappety noise coming from under the bonnet, particularly on the passenger side, I think. Seems to be when the engine is warm I think. The oil pressure is fine.
I suspect this is normal but wonder if others have heard a similar noise?
Thanks

Most likely to be manifold gaskets, not tappets, you wont belive how common a mistake this is.

Exactly the same noise I get from my 400. Not so loud if you have a passenger though and if you move your head towards the centre of the car the noise is less.

Maybe the noise is coming through the footwell on the passenger side then where the battery is? Perhaps there is less on that side between engine and cockpit??
That would explain why a passenger damps down the noise

I agree with RumbleBee - look at your exhaust gaskets first.

Cheaper too!
