Classic range rover or SD1 veetess (sorry about spelling)
There's lots of Second hand ones on ebay.

Or I've got a spare if you want to borrow to test.

If you follow the links on the spare's wiki there's so info on testing etc.

Don't forget that there's no guarantee any other one you try will be any better than the one you have, they're matched to ECUs so even if apparently OK can still give odd running probs.

Thats true, but depends on what problem he's getting. but a non matched AFM will be better than one that has a faulty track or two.

There's a company in Hednesford (near Cannock, Staffs) that refurbs AFM's, ECU's, most electronic parts. They supplied must OEM parts so know what they are doing, just had an AFM refurbed for a Griff 500 by them, £120+VAT.
The company is ATP and the number is 01543 427900.
They will test it first to see if there is a fault - ours was running rich, which we knew, so just need to refit now. Got a stocvk 3.9 Disco AFM and it's not as good but it runs OK so TVR must have done something to it.

Later injection used a different AFM (the hotwire type). I'm not sure how you'd go about 'refurbing' a hotwire other than to replace the wire! The flap unit of the earlier system takes about an hour to strip down and another hour to put back together so there's £80+ before they actually do anything to it or supply any parts (if they could get them).

Other option is book yourself in for the SE rolling road, And I bring all my spairs, and you can try them there.

I'm sure the Experts running the Day can help to try and iron out your problems also.

What is the crack with the hotwire set up and does it take much to alter from the flapper type as they is a heap of the 3.9 hotwire types on ebay but no flapper types.

Change AFM, ECU, loom, injectors, plenum with idle stabilisation valve (you could modify existing plenum)...

Also the inlet manfold, as the injector sockets are a different size. I think they can be modified.

So it's a lot of work to convert.
