Hi Chima.

Is it just the lights? If so then I'm sure with Turkey being a popular holiday destination some PHer might be kind enough to colleCt any parts you purchase and arrange to meet you there and look at the car to see what's right or wrong.

God luck mate

I ordered a replacement headlamp lens (just the lens, not the whole unit) from TMS (www.tvrgear.com) - I suggest phoning them or emailing them to make sure you get the right one (i.e. not just using the web order tool unless you're sure). Cost about £27.

- Actually, I think I got it from Peninsula Automotive in Cullompton - but I'm sure TMS do them too.

The bible explains how to fit, you will need some of that sticky stuff to stick it on (like they use in bathrooms, but stronger). Not hard to do, just a bit goeey.

Good luck.

Are you sure that its a 97??, It seems to have pre 96 front end, I did not think that they had them like this on 97 cars, unless it was registered late?

I think they are original - they look very similar to the seals on my car anyway.

Have a look round on the floor, underneath seats, under carpets etc. If you can't find one, I'm sure someone here will be able to help, failing that try calling Leven Technology or TVR Gear.

To find out more about your car, you'll need to contact TVR and tell them the serial number. They should be able to confirm which year/model you have. When did lefthand drive cars change front end/grill design?

Are your headlamps some sort of high intensity beam upgrade?

I suspect its still the older style nose as its lhd, as im sure its a different mould for the lhd.

there is also another interesting mix of pre-facelift and post facelift switchgear. i.e. later lights switch and early mirror switch... TVR's eh dont you just love em....

The different lights could also be a lhd thing ?

no no !! the headlamps are changed by the ex-owner ....
i guess he just put something that he found ! they are for sure not original !

and the hazard lights button is lost for sure!!!
so for now the list is : 1.headlamps (complete set?) 2.hlights button 3.the door seals?(not sure?,the look really strange to me, they are not smooth and bumpy )

Don't worry about the window seals on the door. They look just like mine and every other Chimaera I've seen. They could probably do with some treatment to the rubber to soften them up.

What bulbs do your headlamps have fitted? It's the fact that the rubber seals look purpose made. Have you seen other lefthand drive chimaera's to compare (they're not something we see too much of in the UK!). Seems strange to replace headlamps with smaller units as I didn't think they were anything 'special'.

Welcome to the joys of TVR ownership!

I find that Silicon Lubricant (not sealent) applied to all the rubber seals helps keep them from perishing.

The seals along the doors do not look right to me, they look like they fit over the top of the door edge, this is not the same as my Griff or my old Chimaera where the seal is not that visable and is below the edge of the door. These seals look like they have been added later. Are the origonal seals underneath maybe?

I'm with you on this one!!!, My chimaera seals are not on the top of the door either, Although looking at the paint finish on the top inside bit they might be a good option!!!!!
