I applied for a company I control to be dissolved on 31 July. I was informed that it would be dissolved on 31 October by my accountants (3 months notice was required).

I had been expecting one of my invoices to be paid (£650). The company sent me a cheque at the beginning of October, which I never received. I then asked the company to pay me by BACS which they did. Unfortunately, the BACS payment wasn't received into my account until 31 October. I immediately transferred it out into my personal account.

I've just received a letter from the bank telling me that they have reversed the transaction as the account has been frozen and any funds are due to the Treasury Solicitor.

It would appear that the company was actually dissolved on 30 October. How can I reclaim these funds from the Treasury Solicitor (if, indeed I can)? Surely, I haven't now lost this money due to some unfortunate timing?!

(Damn annoyed at the bank; their letter is dated 3rd November, received today, and they tell me they're going to take the money on the 5th frown )

Thanks, very interesting. Looks like an awful lot of paperwork and hassle frown

Were the bank within their rights to transfer the money back out of my private account to the company account five days later?
