underboady rigs...where to get magnets?
Discussion
hello people.
not that impressed with the B.hauge rig i got a few weeks ago so i'm looking at making an underbody rig that attaches to the car using magnets.
I gather you need 125kg force magnets or more and i'm struggleing to find theese any idea's on this?
any other genreal advice/info would be great too ;-)

125kg, how will you get it off?!
the 125kg is the rating in optimal conditons.actual force on the underside of a car will be a lot less due to un-even surface and the distance between the magnet and the metal caused by this and the underseal.
I'v found some for a reasonable price so i guess i'l just buy one and try it out on my car ;-)

What problems have you had with your bhague rig?
just found it a bit limiting to be honest.-i tried to find shots where i could shoot the car without having to photoshop the rig out, i struggled to include enough car and get good compositions that didn't look forced (due to limitations of the rig)
-i couldn't get the camera very far away fro the vehicle whilst providing good support for the camera. even if i wanted to photoshop the rig out and include the whole car i would have had to use a super wide angle lens. i think the 24 i used for this shot is as wide as i would ever want to go shooting a vehicle.

-found using it time consuming and anoying to use due to the clamps being fairly bulky.
probably wouldn't buy another...what do you use? are you considering buying one?
rick.
