If you can find a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for that money then go for that.
Marlborough region stuff is excellent, could be closer to £6-£7 though.

Blossom Hill. Not sure I would stretch to "nice" but I can drink it ok and it is cheap.

You can get a nice bottle of white (lightning) for under a fiver. Sounds like that will be right up your street.

Our local off licence do 3 for 2 on all wine, so you can get 3 good bottles for £15 drunk

That is why they are tramps, they don't know a good deal when they see one.

V Good: Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc £6.33 when you buy 3 bottles at Thresher
Even Better: Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc Reserve £8.33 when you buy 3 bottles at Thresher

The Reisling is good, too - the Mrs is motoring through it at the minute.

Another vote for the Villa Maria whites.

There's another one from NZ called Montana which is also very good.

Tesco's Finest, (or is it Own-Brand) Chillean range is utterly superb for the moeny.

The Sauvignon Blanc is about Euro 5.99 over here so should only be a few quid in the UK

Way better than Blossom Hill :hurl;
