Just stopped my mate with a large head trying on my new helmet, it's a small.
I don't think he really forced it but im sure i heard creaking noise and now im worried it might be damaged.

I you compress a helmet from the outside around the bottom, should it flex slightly?

Thanks

Tom

Thanks! I've just removed the cheek pads and on one side the fibreglass underneath looks cracked. Is this normal?

if it looks cracked and is new like... I'd take it back to the shop. It's unlikely your mate would have managed to crack it and probably happened in transport...

By the way, don't mention that your mate *may* have cracked it to the shop owner!

I think I will take it for look. Lol, no i wont be mentioning that!! but what it think may have happened is the creak was heard because the helmet was already damaged. He only sat it on top of his head before i stopped him.

Lol, no i don't think he'd have caused any damage now, he didn't put any effort into it. I think the 'cracks' if that's what they are were already there. The chap in the shop said he'd have a look for me.

Pal of mine just got into biking. I wear helmets which are usually XL, but sometimes L. my AGV XL is a bit loose, my old AGV L was just as tight as my Arai XL is.

(Best I have an Arai thread ever?)

He tried on my AGV and it was like trying to get a potato into an egg cup. I measure his head and he has a huuuuge head.

He went to bike shops n tried on different makes, eventually finding a brand that was bigger than the rest, so that he is in an XL helmet instead of XXL.

A real case of 'does my bum look big in this' kind of mentality.
Ok so ya helmet is an XL... you still got a big head!
