Hi folks,

My Canon S70 packed up a few weeks ago - famous Canon "e18" error meaning that the lens has jammed. Have tried the DIY fixes, started taking it apart with no luck (and even the grinding noises have stopped now eek)

It's a good camera and only a couple of years old - was going to replace it with a cheap point & shoot as I bought a dSLR in the meantime. However, I see they are going for 150-200 on ebay.

Is it worth me getting it repaired and either using it as my P&S, or ebaying and buying a cheap P&S with change for a new lens for the dSLR maybe? smile

If so, any recommendations?

Just emailed thecameracentre.com who quoted 60 quid which sounds OK (although it may escalate if it turns out I killed something with static headache

Anybody else? Prices?

If I need anything done to my D70S I'll investigate them, but they don't seem to do compacts frown
