Hi
I would like to understand how to change the colour of specific objects using photoshop? These wheels for instance. How do I turn the centres to black with a yellow outer rim?

Thanks in advance

I'm not 'Big Chris' (charlie), but here is my try:

ETA: how I did it

step one select the inside of the rims on both the visible wheels using the polygonal lasso tool.
reduce the brightness in this area
step two select the outer rim, go to image > adjustments > variations and change the colour to how you want it

Although now I've seen that step-by-step guide, I think I might prefer it with just the outer edges yellow.

Awesome thumbup I struggle to change skies and copy reflections!! But I suppose I don't have CS3 and I've only been playing for a couple of months. Great to see what can be done though bow

Ooooo great question. Ok the biggest problem I have is selecting things; what's the best way to "select".

For example the magic wand tool you have to play with and the tolerance - can work ok but sometimes edges are never clear. I find the polygon lassoo tool not accurate enough (more than likely my poor hand!)

What's your thoughts?!

Thanks for the help!

How do you select a bit at a time though, do you use the 3 x buttons in the top left which either add/subtract/new selection?

Dumb question; the polygon lasso tool, does it actually "lassoo to anything, or does it just go where my mouse puts it?
