The graphics are great, they gameplay good..
but there is something disturbing about a game that alows you to play as a AC-130 Spectre gunship gunner shooting defenseless bad guys on the ground and looking exactly like those Youtube videos that circulated a year or so ago.
Its great fun but it does rather make me feel a tad guilty.

Guilty feelings from playing a computer game? Whatever next?
Did you feel guilty about shooting that guys arm off with the .50cal sniper rifle too?
No...Did you feel guilty about shooting that guys arm off with the .50cal sniper rifle too?
but ive never watched a real sniper killing someone.. and on a PC game the graphics are still not realistic...
but the AC130 bit is.
So roll that one up and insert into your vocal orifice..

What does it run like on your PC rich? I downloaded the demo on my PC (Amd64 3.2ghz, 8800gts card) and it runs like a dog (~15-20fps) compared to the 360 version (silky smooth 60fps).
runs great ill check the fps tonightCore Duo E6600 "Gb Ram, and an 8800gtx running at 1680 x 1050

Im a longterm PC gamer, but pretty soon Im going to stop bothering
partly because COD 4 on the 360 is so absolutely stunning.
I saw Crysis running on a friend Mega PC gaming rig with two 8800 ultra sli bo
ocks things all running with overclocked cooling crap.
and while it was impressive the fact that his rig cost nearly £3k, it wasnt as impressive as COD4 is on a £200 console. and it wasnt anywhere near as smooth.
I dont know how they are doing it but the recent batch of releases on the 360 are getting better and better (its almost like they have stuck a new gfx card in.) and making PCs look more and more overpriced.

It does look superb doesn't it? But then i just made approx a £500/600 upgrade to my PC and it runsCOD4 on max at 1680x1050, so you don't have to spend thousands. In fact if i hadn't bothered with the
extra 2 gig of ram and waited for the GT cards, that price would have been more like £400.
Saying that, i have always been a console fan - gamers do miss out on a lot for ignoring them. There
have been many occasions where the consoles were better (for a while) than the best PC's, then it would
flip the other way, then they would be kinda equal, then one would get ahead again..blah blah.Never
really cared about all that though, i just wanted to play games so enjoyed them all and the 360 is pumping
out some proper next gen stuff with the silky smooth COD4.
It makes me wonder if MS didn't include mouse and keyboard support because they knew the PC gaming market would
lose so many customers. Not much need for the latest GPU either on your PC if one also sat inside your console..

have been toying with a pc upgrade for a while, but its not so much the cost, but the hassle.
Upgrading will be a right pain becasue my motherboard is AGP, and its going to mean a re-install of everything to get a PCI one.
Itll probably just be easier buying a new system. but Ive already got 3 pcs running/storing important crap....thats why a gaming laptop is looking more tempting..
and also, the antisocial factor is better too, meaning, the wife doesnt get pissed off with me going off into my office to play games all night long.
At least on the 360 , I can play in my living room

I noticed the pc graphics are better than the 360 version, in the pc-demo the clouds would illuminate from the javelin missiles, no such eye-candy on the 360. That'll probably explain why i get lousy frame rates; it seems the 'optimal' settings the game chooses are a bit too optimistic, or my pc is sh*te

Dont think thats true, Im pretty sure that they do.
Still, even if they dont, the solid 60 fps more than makes up for it.

My pc is a similar spec to yours - Alienware- amd64 3200+ 7600 AGP something 1gig but it runs fine. 3 and half yrs old although i upgrated the graphics card to the best I could get for AGP.I bought COD4 yesterday and was very impressed. Played a bit on line and the singleplayer. I dont think I turned down any options for the graphics but it runs smooth and looks great.
It feels like a (the long awaited) sucessor to BF2. Very frantic and tense action. Look forward to have some PH in my sights on line.
