Accelerator Cable

I need to urgently buy a new accelerator cable for my Chimaera. It snapped on the way back from Pistonfest last night. The RAC chap tried to thread new inner cable through the outer casing but something was jamming it.

I need to pop up to Aberystwyth now to get a new one, and choice is a bit thin up there. There is a Land Rover/Range Rover garage and a halfords and thats about it!!

So anyone know what cable I can use.

I left my SH bible at home in Hemel!!!

Sorry to hear that Dan...hope that its all sorted now.

Judging by the amount of accelerator cables that snap on these cars at an inopportune time, i think i will buy one and keep it in the boot for when its eventually needed.

Where do I get one of these on line? Is it TMS?, as I think one in the boot is a great idea, along with a bit of string to pull the old cable through and pull the new one back.

I popped into the local Rover place and they didn't have any, I called TMS and also they didn't haqve any in stock. But they gave me the number for Newtown TVR who had one and posted it to me. Arived yesterday morning, fitted by yesterday afternoon!

Good news. You won't have to do what my acocuntant did. He delights in driving old bangers and turned up once in a Manta clutching a bit of string that led through a vent in the bonnet...
